Our story begins with Dimitris and Flora, who dreamed of building a hotel that would embrace the warmth of their own home. In June 1990, that dream came true when Glavas Inn opened its doors with 30 guest rooms and a dedicated team of six employees.From the very beginning, this has been more than just a business—it's been our family’s home. We live here year-round, and the three of us—Eleana, Petros, and Emily—quite literally grew up at the front desk. As time went on, our parents acquired nearby land and expanded the hotel, adding more rooms to welcome even more guests. Dimitris, our father, had a vision: to create a home that would warmly receive people from all over the world.
His journey in hospitality began in 1972 in Detroit, Michigan, where he owned and operated three restaurants. After 15 years, he returned to Greece and discovered this little oasis in Halkidiki. Together with our mother Flora, they set out to create a place where guests could feel truly at home. They planted lush greenery around the rooms and served home-cooked meals made with fresh, local ingredients—many of the recipes passed down from our grandmother Anna and perfected by Flora.

What began as a simple, heartfelt inn by the sea is now a growing brand guided by the same values that shaped our first welcome: warmth, honesty, and belonging.
As we expand, we do so with intention — not to replicate, but to extend a feeling: the comfort of a home, the beauty of familiar land, and the timeless rhythm of hospitality. Dimitris, aka to many as Mitsos
The heart and soul behind Glavas Inn. He began building this place in 1988, and from the very beginning, it held a special meaning for him. He chose to name the hotel after the family’s surname, expressing his personal connection to Glavas Inn. He loved gathering with guests, sharing stories, creating new spaces around the resort, and enjoying his favorite view from our home’s balcony every morning and at sunset. His spirit continues to guide us in everything we do at Glavas Inn and will always be remembered.
Flora
The one who keeps everything running smoothly. She is always here, making sure everything is in order and that every guest feels cared for.
Petros
Our local expert! He is here year-round, overseeing renovations, caring for the gardens, and in summer, welcoming guests. He shares the spots locals love to eat, drink, and explore, while listening to their stories—continuing the hospitality our family has offered since day one.
Eleana
Our eldest daughter and the architect of the family. She loves designing new spaces and renovations, making sure each one is unique and full of character.
Emily
Our youngest, and the voice of Glavas Inn on social media. She is always around to assist guests, helping wherever needed, and making sure the smallest details that often go unnoticed are perfect.
Lucy Lu
Our beloved dog, who brought joy not only to our family but to every guest as well. She loved belly rubs, beach walks, and having guests take pictures of her. Her spirit continues to be a cherished part of Glavas Inn!
